Non-Fiction

Walking through town and it’s not even three
Seen a Bloke on the floor he’s as high as can be
Fag still in mouth his mates just stare
Realities too hard to bare
See this shit all too often
Ignored at the top and forgotten
A bags all they’ve got and a nasty addiction
Who needs to read when this is non fiction
On the news the rich are getting richer
At the expense of a warm dinner
Old Doris is at home and is cold to the bone
parents go hungry so their kids don’t
you’re telling me that this shit should be news
bastards who profit from our energy use
We all have a right to be warm in our homes
not pray that the bailiffs leave us alone
Jeremy says theirs no more help
Well that’s a death sentence for the poorest he’s dealt
Is there an end to this affliction?
Who needs to read when this is non fiction
Kids turn on kids and Murder each other
Is shit that bad that theirs no other option
Sent off to school and they might not be back
Teach to defend is to teach to attack
Can’t all the weapons just be left well alone
Words can cut deep but they let you go home
County lines hate crimes how many more times
This ain’t worth all these innocent lives
Must be a way to end all of this shit
cuts for the youth leads to more of this shit
Those who commit need stronger convictions
Who needs to read when this is non fiction

Something in the Mist

Don’t smell stale smoke anymore
Fruits flavours coming from the toilet door
All corner shops are selling them
elf bars are two for ten
Packed with too much nicotine
No surprise everyone seems so keen
There to help us kick the habit
Is this how they planned it?
Get us hooked on another product
Will we All end up just as stuffed?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see
At least your hands stay nice and clean
No staining, off yellow
That’s an issue that’s good to go
horror videos on tik tok
Is that vapes or bad luck?
There’s just not a lot of information
In the meantime you gotta stay patient
In the meantime puff puff away
If it means that the baccys kept at bay
there’s just so many good flavours
never gag, it’s something you savour
Therein lies the problem
Is there something in the mist that tastes quite rotten?
They just turned up one day
It certainly seems that there here to stay
In teens there is a pandemic
Give em pocket money that’s how there gonna spend it
There’s way more Vapers than smokers
Surely a problem in the long term
There’s benefits I’ve seen it
Blow a fat cloud, bro let it rip
It’s your party trick
And a bad habit it’s helped to kick
replaced it with a new one
are there repercussions to this fun?
They are glued to peoples hands
Maybe it’s a pleasure for the damned
Online shops like supermarkets
With their profits I bet they’re all laughing
You’ve got a be moron they say
but we need a vice to get through the day
It’s cheaper less, less harmful
it’s a plus if your partial
Where’s the years of research?
How long before they say that its worse?
Therein lies the problem
Is there something in the mist that tastes quite rotten?

Life Sentence

Try having it since you were nine
As a kid it was a difficult time
Always teased for being stuck on the shitter
I’m surprised, I havent grown-up, more bitter
Need to know my dietary needs
Well it’s tough when you suffer with greed
I see food and I have to bloody eat
How the hell am I ever gonna beat it
IBS it’s a life sentence
IBS it’s a life sentence
Stress and anxiety make it worse for me
IBS is a life sentence
I’m writing this at the age of 32
Still controlled by those pesky number 2’s
All my fun has to be organised
Are there toilets? All my mates they roll their eyes
No-one really seems to get this condition
Yet it wreaks havoc on millions
If I call in sick they must think I’m lying
Wish they could see me stuck to the toilet, crying.
IBS it’s a life sentence
IBS it’s a life sentence
Stress and anxiety make it worse for me
IBS is a life sentence
I wish I could stay stress free
Might help to manage this disease
Up at 2, up at 3 up at 4
There’s no way I’ll make it out the door
Seen so many specialists
No cure seems to exist
They tried to give me anti depressants
I’m not taking mind altering suppressants
Oh damn todays been a good day
Is this what it’s like to have a stomach that’s okay
No rushing to the bog, no crippling pain
No longer do I have to hide my shame
I can wake up and finally feel free
No more early morning toilet sprees
Celebrations always short lasted
This is condition is such a bloody bastard
